Who is Mom?

When Patsy Flattery (Mom) made her first batch of Whatsa-majiggie Sauce at the age of 16, little did she know how popular it would become.

Patsy grew up, married, and became a Mom. Her sauce came in handy raising four children on a fairly modest budget. Ground beef, chicken, fish sticks (remember them), scrambled eggs, meat loaf, you name it, everything tasted better with that sauce!

Patsy's youngest daughter, Sally, grew up, married, and acquired her four-legged "kids". Sally took on her Mom's passion for cooking and is also an outdoor enthusiast. She trains her Goldens (Red Dogs) and Labrador retrievers (Black and Yellow Dogs) for field trials and often takes them hunting with friends. Sally learned how great Whatsa-majiggie Sauce tastes on venison, duck, pheasant and other game. Mom would make a big batch of the sauce and share it with Sally's friends. Soon they were asking for it regularly and the Whatsa-majiggie Sauce that you can buy today was created.

As an avid outdoor enthusiast, Sally realizes how physically and fiscally healthy fishing and hunting are:

  • You have to exercise to get it
  • There are no added hormones, chemicals and very little fat in fish and game
  • And best of all – No Grocery Bill!

Who isn't looking to save a few $$ here and there.

However, if you enjoy jogging down the aisles of your favorite butcher shop or grocery store, Whatsa-majiggie is still Whatsa-for-you.

We had to have security take this photo for us. Three rubs are already missing and was only Saturday. Looks like Michael Symon, Guy Fieri and Bobby Flay took some home for their own kitchens!

Let's face it. You can't eat Whatsa-majiggie Sauce every night! Mom and Sally were cooking up a storm, as often happens when the two of them get in the kitchen...when creativity struck again. They decided to come up with some seasoning and spice rubs that had more "character" than what is available in stores. The louder the conversation, the more intense the collaberation until, viola, a whole new line of Good Stuff appeared!

We love our "stuff" and hope you do too. Whether you're solo, married, have a significant other, or a family of 10 like Patsy's sister, Sally, we encourage you to cook, grill, eat, share and create great meals.

Check out our recipes, many of them were inspired by Stephen Pyles (a very creative cook with game); Emeril (Mom loves Emeril); Mark Miller (Mr. Southwest with sizzle); Bobby Flay (Mom loves Bobby, too) and our hometown Iron Chef, Michael Symon. Feel free to send us your recipes using Mom’s good stuff and we’ll put them on the site for others to enjoy!

Yours in good eating,
Mom (Patsy) and Sally
